EkoWangsa is a Great Camping Site Within
Surrounding One Of The World's Oldest Rainforests Ecological Parks in the world.
Ekowangsa surrounding with Pergau Lake and the Malaysia’s World Oldest
Rainforests is a grouping of forest reserves located in Kelantan state and near
Perak border. Estimated to be more than 130 million years old, all these
rainforests are older even than their counterparts in other places in the world.
EkoWangsa is surrounded by a lush green tropical
rainforest at a height of 2,400 feet above sea level. At night, the temperature
could be as low as 18 degrees Celsius, and fog can be seen enveloping the lake.
Camping ground are provided by for visitors who wish to spend the night within
the vicinity of the area. In the tropical morning light, Malaysia's Lake
Pergau is a glazed expanse of emerald, blue green, deepened by the dense walls
of rainforest surrounding it.
The Pergau Lake
Sanctuary covers a total area of 460 hectares. It was declared an ecosystem
conservation park in 2016. Activities around the lake include jungle trekking. Visitors
will require a permission and permit, for forest activities, like hiking,
camping and jungle trekking from The Department of Wildlife and National Parks
of Peninsular Malaysia (PERHILITAN)
